Red Hat News

We have four Red Hat Groups at the Center For Seniors: Red Hat Classicals, Red Hat Divas, Red Hat Flappers, and the Z-Sassy Lassies (an evening group).

Our Red Hat Social Groups primary purpose is social interaction for ladies, and to encourage fun, friendship, freedom, and fulfillment. Members 50 and over wear red hats and purple attire to all functions.

A woman under age 50 may also become a member, but she wears a pink hat and lavender attire to the group's events until reaching her 50th birthday. She is referred to as a "Pink Hatter".

We are the ones enjoying life to the fullest, no matter where we are or what we are doing! We are Mothers, Grandmothers, and Daughters getting together for Red Hat fun and socializing with our friends. When you belong to a Red Hat Group(s) you are part of a group who is joined together spreading joy and companionship within and among the groups. Some may ask, "What do you do?"
The answer is... "We do exactly what we wish to do." The goal is for members to bond as they travel through life together. The Red Hat Groups are not a sorority or a voluntary service club.

A founder or leader of a local group is usually referred to as a "Queen Mother". Members are called "Red Hatters".

Both Red and Pink Hatters often wear very elaborately decorated hats  and attention-getting fashion accessories, such as a feather boa, glasses, shoes, etc at the group's get-togethers. The Group's events vary with each group.

Annual membership is $3.00 per group.
