Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEERING

We all have special talents that we sometimes keep hidden.  But these talents, whether big or small, can make a difference if we use them.  At the Muskingum County Center for Seniors, volunteers do just that.  By sharing their talents, they support the center’s staffs in caring for the people of the community and making a difference in the life of those who are served and that’s what being a volunteer is all about.

You are invited to become a volunteer today!  You’ll have the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of those in need, and make some new friends as well.  Becoming a volunteer is easy!

How do I volunteer?

Getting started is easy, just call our volunteer coordinator.  When you call, they will discuss your volunteer opportunities with you and help you decide the type of volunteer work you’d like to do.  Then they will provide training in the area where you will be volunteering.

How much time does it take?

Volunteers can work as long as 8 hours, but they realize you are giving your valuable time, and they will work with you to accommodate your schedule.

What do volunteers do?

A variety of volunteer opportunities are offered, some include direct contact with the seniors, while others do not.  A few of the ways volunteers help include:

Fund-Raising

Volunteers also contribute to the center through a wide variety of fund-raising activities including:

Volunteer Recognition

Volunteers are shown appreciation in several ways.  Every April during National Volunteer Week, a banquet is held to thank volunteers for their dedication and devotion to our center.
